Diwali is the most popular Indian festival which celebrates the victory of good over evil. There are various ways to celebrate Diwali and one of them is the exchange of Diwali gifts. The gifts are the best way to bring long cherished smiles on the faces of your friends and relatives. While choosing Diwali gifts you have to consider the choice, temperament of the recipient and the budget. Selecting an appropriate gift for the dear ones is the most difficult task.

As far as Indians are concerned, every relation ship is important whether it is a relationship with a brother, sister, parents, friends or any other family member. A wide range of gifts are available in shops and markets which makes the Diwali even sweeter. Gifts can be offered as the recipients’ favorite sweets, dolls, cakes, cookies and bouquets. You can give traditional mouth watering Indian sweets as sweets are the most expected gift on Diwali.

Diwali gifts also include candles and candle holders, divine gifts, sculpture, patchwork, jewelry, collection and spun glass. You can also gift house hold and office decor products such as clocks, bookends, plaques, wall hanging and many more. You can also give Diwali gift hampers as they will get according to your budget. The traditional gifts on Diwali are the silver gifts and these silver gifts are available in a huge variety and with trendiest designs. Besides silver crockery items, you can also buy Lakshmi-Ganesha silver coins as Diwali gifts.

Decorative pieces are another type of gifts which people would like to receive from others. You can give decorative pieces to decorate their house on the occasion of Diwali. Other items such as chinaware, traveling bags and kitchen gadgets which have great utility value are suitable as Diwali gifts. You can also present things associated with puja such as Puja thalis, idols of gods, candles and incense sticks.

Diwali gifts for brothers should be elegant, expressive and graceful which coveys your feelings to him. Gifts such as mobile stands, floral candles and Ram Durbar and Ferrero Rocher chocolates are suitable to give as gifts for your brother. Gifts for the sisters can be embroidered bags, cotton suit and Thali and silver utensils. Select the gifts for parents with utmost importance and some of the gifts you can give for your parents are dinner sets, framed Ganesha and chair set or other house hold items. If you are giving gifts to a whole family you have consider each member of the family and best gifts for a family are juice set, joyous Diwali set, chocolate box or Diwali gift hamper. If you can give unique Diwali such as a white metal Ganesha, wall hanging Diya or Goddess Lakshmi on a Lotus. Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are important in the festival of Diwali.

Gifts are important as it is a way to show respect, friendship and appreciation. There is no need of giving extravagant gifts because a gift gives the message that relationship is more important than the gift.

It is one of the notable festivals that are celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The story behind this beautiful and sacred festival is related with the Holy Scriptures. Basically the Diwali is celebrated for the return back of Shri Ram in Ayodhya with his wife Sita and brother Laxman after spending 14 years in forest. The arrival of Shri Ram was a matter of joy and great happiness for all the people of Ayodhya. Diwali is the most awaited festival of sparkling lights when children fire numerous crackers and due to which every corner of the house gets filled with light.

The people from all the age group like kids, youngsters, parents, grandparents celebrate this wonderful festival with proper method and all the sentiments. The basic message hidden behind the celebration of Diwali is the triumph of the goodness over evil powers. All the houses are decorated with colorful candles, beautiful flowers, lamps, other decorative material and electrical lightings, so that there remains no space for the darkness. The darkness indicates the malevolence whereas the lights and the fire indicate the power of goodness. Diwali is a symbol of how the rays of goodness can ruin the existence of the dark of bad powers in this world. Diwali is an incredible festival that is celebrated at its full swing in each and every house.

People normally buy new clothes, get the whitewashes done in their home and prepare the sweets for distributing amongst their friends and relatives. The Diwali gifts are also presented to each other with sweets / mithai. The festival of Diwali is very significant in our country as it defines the culture and the religion power of the people of the nation. Diwali is the most loved and preferred festival that people love to celebrate as there is lot of scope for their fun and entertainment. This festival of Diwali also holds great importance because of the fact that at this festival every family gets united, people meet their close relatives and old friends that remind all the special memories of the past once again. The women are most benefited in this festival as they buy lots of gold, and diamond jewelry and do necessary shopping. The markets are specially decorated and people can buy a variety of gifts to be presented to their loved ones. The “Laxmi Pooja” is one of the most important elements that can’t be avoided. Everyone worship the goddess of wealth “Laxmi’ at the fabulous occasion of Diwali. Basically the motive of the worship is to pray for the prosperity and peace to the goddess of wealth. It’s all about getting the divine blessing from the “Laxmi” in order to get all the success and materialistic comforts in life. Diwali brings the unity in the people and encourage them to get rid of the wickedness hidden in them.

Diwali is the sanctified festival of Hindus that is celebrated with the help of firecrackers, candles and sweets. The Indians commence the preparations before 2 months of the arrival of Diwali. The Diwali is the most significant festivals if compared to other festivals celebrated in India.

The story behind the festival of Diwali is quite simple and easy and everyone knows the story of Rama and Ravana due to which this festival exists. The history of this incredible festival is related with the comeback of Ram, Sita and Laxman from the forests. When the king Ram returns back to his hometown “Ayodhya” with his wife Sita and his younger brother Laxman, the citizens of Ayodhya give a warm welcome to them by spreading the lights all over the Ayodhya. The reason of the happiness and excitement of people of Ayodhya is the victory of their king Ram who killed the wicked Ravan who kidnapped Sita due to his evil intentions. Also they celebrated the day of the comeback of Ram because of the fact that he returned back home after spending complete 14 years in the forest. Lord Rama fought a lot to get back his valuable wife in order to make her free from the bondages of Ravana. With the help of Sugriv, Vibhishan, Hanuman and the monkey soldiers, he fought against the whole force of Ravana and won the Lanka. Due to the divine powers of Hanuman, Sita was found in the country of Ravana. After the war gets over between the Ram and Ravana, Sita got her freedom. The credit of the defeat of the Ravan also goes to his brother Vibhishan who joined the forces of Rama as soon as he recognized the power of goodness.

After destroying the existence of Ravana and all the evil power linked to him, he returned back to his kingdom “Ayodhya” gracefully. Everyone gave a very nice welcome to them by lighting the candles all over the Ayodhya so that there is no place of dark left. Bharat, the brother of Lord Rama who accepted to take the charge of his kingdom only for the time period till Ram is in the forest, gave back the charge of Ayodhya back to Ram. The people of the Ayodhya accepted the Lord Rama as their efficient King who is capable of handling the country.

The amazing festival of Diwali signifies unity in diversity. It unites even those who haven’t met for number of years and fill the heart of everyone with affection, kindness and love. The pooja of ‘Laxmi’ (Goddess of Wealth) is done in almost every house so that one can get all the blessings from the sacred goddess. It is believed that if you are blessed by the “Laxmi”, then you are going to have large access to money. The colorful rangolis at the front of the house is made by the female members of the family to give a nice welcome to all those who enter in your house. Every Indian eagerly looks forward to celebrate this festival with the family.
